So true…

In response to a complaint of authorship, which can vaguely be confirmed upon looking at the lower right hand corner of the image after color inversion and an extreme increase in contrast, I’ll link to the claimed original author’s post:

http://miscellanea.wellingtongrey.net/2008/12/01/prayer-vs-hard-work/

I freely admit I did not author this image, but the idea someone would go through this much trouble to complain of an image easily made with your favorite paint tool strikes me as odd.

Also, in response to a comment on reddit about how it’s not about “praying for an A on the test, but praying for the strength to study hard so you get an A on the test.” Why do you need strength? Why not the patience? Why not the attention span? Why not the adderall? Seriously, if you want to study, prayer won’t make a bit of difference, the difference lies in the determination to study and do well. The ritual may give you that little bit of comfort, but nothing more.

Prayer doesn’t solve the problem? What if the problem is “not enough prayer”? Huh. Gotcha there, wise guy!
I cannot believe that there is a website called “evilmilk.com”. I wonder if evil milk comes from Hell Bovine…

Geez, if we went around fixing problems, pretty soon there’d be no reason to pray! Lonely old ladies would stop sending money to ‘healers’, big ministry leaders would become unimportant and lose their power, God himself would become unimportant.(what has HE done for us lately!?)

Churches work so much better when the far rigtht is in power and the ecomomy is ‘trickle down’.(i.e. take money from taxes and give it to banks, international corporations etc. and hope that they will ‘make the free market work’.)

The people are stuck praying that the banks, international corporations etc. find a way to imagine that they have too much money and want to use it to help the country.

This situation helps remind the rich that God loves THEM more too, if they can look out their windows and see hoboes, hookers and bums, through telescopes of course!(wouldn’t want to be anywhere NEAR them, yuck!)

I hope you don’t mind — I loved this so much I submitted it to reddit. 🙂

Hi, I’m the author of the above image. I don’t mind you using it, but could you at least link to the page it came from? Thanks.

“the idea someone would go through this much trouble to complain of an image easily made with your favorite paint tool strikes me as odd.”

I’ve read and re-read that sentence. And I still do not understand it. Wellington Grey’s comics might be made in paint but that does not belittle it’s quality.

Also, you didn’t even make the link hotlink. Thats kinda petty man.

Congratulations for your lack of understanding, and now I shall be petty:

    1) I did nothing illegal, or in any way wrong
    2) I conceded that it may be POSSIBLE the work is originally done by one Wellington Grey
    3) I even put the url where it could be found on my page
    4) I did find the image elsewhere without a tag in the lower right corner:
    http://www.hahakiri.com/2009/01/03/prayer-vs-hard-work/
    http://www.eatliver.com/i.php?n=3843
    5) It is rather simple to both put on and take off a tag, so, I will continue to be skeptical of the original author, however, considering that the image at Miscellanea was the earliest I found (although the date can be easily changed with a little HTML), I will concede to using that image AND providing the URL to said site; considering I am a very busy individual as of late, I firgured, well, if you’re on the internet and can’t type or copy and paste a URL into the address bar, you shouldn’t be reading my blog anyway.
    6) I also had the intentions to modify this further when I again had internet access, which I do not have at work, since I am pretty much locked away in isolation from the world; so if everyone would be so kind as to quit your fucking whining like I hear all fucking day, I’ll get to it when I get to it. This post is over a week old and I had absolutely no intention of EVER going back to it except as maybe a self-reference within my own blog.
    7) I have more interesting things to talk about than a fucking comic, which I only linked to in passing, so future comments will simply be ignored and/or deleted as I see fit, without being addressed.
