The farce is strong with this one

I will first state that I am not trying to be condescending, it just comes out that way. I am not trying to ridicule, it’s just so difficult to not ridicule the ridiculous.

Farce: characterized by physical humor, the use of deliberate absurdity or nonsense, and broadly stylized performances.

“Holistic medicine”=”Holistic medicine is a system of health care which fosters a cooperative relationship among all those involved, leading towards optimal attainment of the physical, mental emotional, social and spiritual aspects of health. It emphasizes the need to look at the whole person, including analysis of physical, nutritional, environmental, emotional, social, spiritual and lifestyle values. It encompasses all stated modalities of diagnosis and treatment including drugs and surgery if no safe alternative exists. Holistic medicine focuses on education and responsibility for personal efforts to achieve balance and well being.”

Rather than just argue against this whole thing, I’m going to put some fun examples of this stuff out in the open, read, laugh, enjoy; you’re welcome.

This one‘s never heard of endogenous ethanol, nor has she ever read the numerous verified research publications that demonstrate low levels of ethanol are beneficial for patients at risk of cardiac disease. I’m not advocating binge drinking, a glass of (I prefer red) wine at dinner or (perhaps) a martini or two per week.

From the same author, we find she also doesn’t understand immunity and neural development at all. Humans NEED LDL and HDL cholesterol, if LDL gets low, an entire aspect of your innate immune system doesn’t function (possibly quorum sensing inhibition) and it is overactive (i.e. “stronger) if you have TOO MUCH. If HDL is low, your neurons don’t work properly. Do YOU want a stronger immune system?

From another author, she didn’t get the memo that thimerosal isn’t used in vaccines anymore.

The second author also seems to be an apologetic for urophagia. I’ll let wikipedia explain that one to you.

Due to a arrival of bot patrols, I have added several new phrases to my spam filter.

You know I have to say if you wanted people to laugh at this article, you succeeded as you gave me a good laugh that is for sure.

Thank you for attacking my articles, in such “logical” ways, and might I say attacking a fellow biologist who doesn’t quite seem to share your views. It is one thing to have a difference of opinion and quite another to take someone’s work and research and put it completely out of context, plus and this is the best part, make ridiculous assumptions about what they know and don’t know. Very classy and rational indeed. But hey I hope it serves you.

Either way the whole experience was enlightening for me, to see all the interesting personalities out there. If you are interested in looking at the field of biology in a little more open-minded view, may I recommend “The Biology of Belief” by Dr. Bruce Lipton.

    Let’s do some argument deconstruction:

“You know I have to say if you wanted people to laugh at this article, you succeeded as you gave me a good laugh that is for sure.”

    Why not ridicule the ridiculous?

“Thank you for attacking my articles, in such “logical” ways,”

You are quite welcome. It is far easier than presenting real scientific findings from others then jumping to conclusions which are not merited.

“and might I say attacking a fellow biologist who doesn’t quite seem to share your views.”

I rarely attack individuals, but ideas instead. I do this ALL THE TIME. I have several pieces against accommodationist biologist claims as well as several arguments against the notions of “DNA is code” and punctuated equilibrium.

“It is one thing to have a difference of opinion and quite another to take someone’s work and research and put it completely out of context,”

Cool, I took it out of context by linking to the page? Who knew providing access to the entire context was taking something out of context…

“plus and this is the best part, make ridiculous assumptions about what they know and don’t know. Very classy and rational indeed. But hey I hope it serves you.”

So you do know the evidence that blatantly contradicts a number of your statements? So were you just being dishonest? I was assuming you did not know so as to avoid moral judgements, but if you DO know these things, then I can revise this.

“Either way the whole experience was enlightening for me, to see all the interesting personalities out there.”

“out there”–as in “I’m out there, man”

“If you are interested in looking at the field of biology in a little more open-minded view, may I recommend “The Biology of Belief” by Dr. Bruce Lipton.”

Hahaha, I have read most of it, I wouldn’t tell anyone else to waste their time. Quite a bit can be found on books.google.com

Spoilers: he makes hundreds of unsubstantiated claims of spirituality and supplies absolutely no evidence or references. It is written for to convince a lay audience, which I am not. I am, as such, unconvinced, until provided with evidence.
